Whenever you fancy. Do as you please. Sign up any time before May 30 to track your moves and blow past your goal.
What am I fundraising for?
Join us at LoveOurHospital.com and you will support cardiac care throughout the Health Centre. Our Defibrillators located in patient care areas have been deemed out of service in 2022 by the supplier. Your support THIS MAY will help buy our replacement Defibrillators. Because we will be buying similar Defibrillators to our Ambulance system, we no longer require the 2 mobile units… making our ultimate replacement purchase 9 Defibrillators. Great News… we already have money banked for 2 defibrillators just 7 more are needed. Any pledges collected above the $155,000 goal will be designated to the next priority of the Health Centre.
Is there a minimum needed to participate?
None. Set a goal. Go for it. Even, blow past it. When you set a personal distance goal and a donation is received, our tracking will divide your goal by the donation amount and share how much per kilometre you just FUNraised! No registration fee at sign up. No minimum pledges. But pledges count big time! We need you to gather as many pledges as you can. It is all about health. Your goal each day will pump your heart and your pledges will keep hearts pumping at the Health Centre! And that is what it is all about.

Connect your Goal Setting Page to Your Fitness App
With our fitness app integration and manual entry, tracking the journey towards your goal has never been easier. Your profile page includes your personal distance tally so you can track your distance towards your target. This is a great way to keep your friends updated on your success! If you track your moves with Fitbit or Strava your distances will automatically add to your tally.
Follow these steps to track your KMs automatically:
- Download the Fitbit, or Strava and set up your account
- Log in to your fundraising page.
- Under the heading ‘Connect your preferred Fitness app’, click your chosen app.
- Follow the prompts to connect your account
- When you next ride, select ‘start your workout’ in the app on your phone. Once you end your ride, save your Ks and your distance will be published to the tally on your page the following day.
If you have synced your app already but it is not working, please log in and re-connect it.
When using Fitbit, you must ‘start’ an activity and save it. Your daily steps will not automatically add to your page. If you are having issues, try syncing through BOTH your Fitbit and the Fitbit app on your smartphone.
When using MapMyFitness, you must ‘start’ your workout, ‘stop’ your workout and then ‘SAVE’ your workout.
Your tally will be updated each day with the previous day’s distances. Track your KMs manually:
You can manually add your kilometres to the tally in your “Log My Fitness Activity” tab of your fundraiser dashboard. This is a great option if you’re using a different method of tracking your distances.
- Log in to your account and select ‘Log My Fitness Activity’
- Under ‘Add activity’, enter the date and distance
- The number of KMs will now appear on your fundraising page!
How can I support a participant?
Click 'donate' and search for the participant you'd like to support. Having troubles finding them? Contact us at the Foundation of the West Parry Sound Health Centre 705-746-4540 x 3345.
Am I eligible for a tax receipt?
Yes. All donations receive an automatic official receipt issued by the Foundation, West Parry Sound Health Centre. Eligibility for tax benefit aligns with the guidelines of the Canada Revenue Agency. If you have a question about the eligibility of your specific donation, please contact CRA or call us at 705-746-4540 x 3345.
Until COVID, Cash was King. Do you still take it?
We're happy to take cheques and cash. Please mail cheques, payable to Foundation, WPSHC to Foundation, WPSHC 6 Albert Street, Parry Sound, Ontario P2A 3A4. If you are supporting a specific participant, please reference their name in the memo line.
Participants, if you are collecting multiple cash and cheque donations, consider tracking these on a separate paper and forwarding one cheque along with the sheet of donor information for receipting to cover all cash to the above address.
